NEW DELHI: Legendary Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan said in an interview broadcast yesterday that he considered his future daughter-in-law, leading actress Aishwarya Rai, “domesticated” and a “simple girl”. When asked what it was that impressed him about Rai, Bachchan told the NDTV news channel: “I think she’s a lot simpler than what is made out of her. She’s a very simple girl, very traditional. She’s also very domesticated.”

Abhishek Bachchan is about to marry Aishwarya Rai. Abhishek Bachan officially proposed Aishwarya Rai after their latest film Guru premier in New York. This was announced by Amitabh Bachchan, the bollywood superstar has said. Amitabh Bachchan added that the date for the marriage has not been decided yet.

"They had gone for the premiere of ‘Guru’ in New York in New York. After the premiere Abhishek proposed and Aishwarya accepted. I was the first person he called to break the news. I was overjoyed and gave them blessings and I asked them to come home soon," Bachchan told a news channel on Monday.

When asked about the marriage date, Bachchan said "not as yet". "Some members of our family are not here now. When they come back we will discuss," he said.
